Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE):
It is an integrity measure used by the Department to ensure the student visa is used with the intention to study and not as a means to maintain residency. The applicant is required to submit a personal statement in English to address the GTE criteria.
Following factors are taken into account when assessing the GTE suitability:
Circumstances in the home country (or country of residence)
Potential circumstances in Australia
Value of qualification to the applicant’s future
Immigration history of the applicant
In case of a minor, circumstances of the parent, legal guardian or spouse are also assessed.
GTE statement is the most important document of your student visa application and could be the factor which decides if yourapplication is granted or denied.
Student Guardian Visa (590)
For an International student under the age of 18 whose studying in Australia, this visa allows their parent, legal guardian or relative to accompany them in Australia.
Eligibility
Be a parent, or have legal custody, or be a relative and nominated by the parent
Be 21 years or older
Be able to provide accommodation, general welfare and support to the student
Demonstrate financial capacity to support yourself and the student during the stay
